You guys asked for a swimsuit review so I figured what better place to go than Target?  I’ve reviewed 8 swimsuits varying from bikinis to one pieces. Target has a wide variety of suits that are well priced and I mean who doesn’t love Target?!?!

For reference purposes, I will give full disclosure. I am 5′ 5″, I weight 147 pounds and wear a 36 B bra. PSA: Please ignore all the cellulite….but I’m a real woman who has had 4 kids and am in my 40’s so it is what it is! Now that you guys no ALL my business lets get into this swimsuit review shall we!

This Mossimo Women’s Lace-Up One Piece suit looks like absolutely NOTHING on the hanger however once I put in on I was pleasantly surprised! It comes in 4 colors and is the perfect MOM suit. It has full coverage with a deep plunging neckline that can be loosened or tightened to show more or less skin and has soft cups for added support.

I am wearing a size medium in olive green and I absolutely love this suit. The back dips down low and has the crisscross straps to add a little extra something something.  This is a testament to trying things on even if you don’t think you like it on the hanger!

Now let’s talk abou the Shade & Shore swimsuit collection ! When I first saw it a few months ago I was like OMG these suits are BOMB ASS! Then I looked at the price and was like WTH, this is Target not a department store but after I got over the price points I couldn’t stop looking at them. The tops are sold in your specific bra sizes i.e. 36 B and the bottoms go from XS – XL allowing you to customize your perfect suit!

I’ve been eyeing this Light Lift Bandeau Bikini Set by Shade & Shore for MONTHS now.  The bikini top and sun coast cheeky strappy high waist bikini bottom look much better in person.  The colors are more vibrant and I love the gold stripe details they make the suit look more glamorous and high end.

I am wearing a 36 B top and size medium bottom. I love the fact that the bottom provides full coverage over my backside and the high waisted fit masks my mom pooch.  The top is also padded so it helps those of us with smaller boobs look curvier which is always a plus. The bonus is it’s currently on sale for 15% off! You guys know I love color so this one went home with me!

I also had my eye on this Shade & Shore light lift cut out one piece monokini.  I really wanted to try on the purple version but they didn’t have it in stock so I tried on this color.  Now I’m all for color but I have to say this suit made my eyes hurt…lol.  The colors are much more vibrant in the store.  I tried on a 36 B  and I love the criss-cross details in the back. They add a little more style to the suit. I do love the style and I really hoped it worked but I had to leave it in the store.

Back to the regular Target line… In the interest of trying on a one piece that has less skin showing I tried on this Shade & Short Light Lift Halfter Cut Out One Piece swimsuit. It has a padded bra and gives you full coverage with a few cutouts to add a little pizzaz to the suit.  Personally, it’s not one of my favorites but I will say that my dude loved it. Which says that you don’t always have to show skin to be sexy.

Next up, is this gingham tie front one piece by Xhilaration. I figured with gingham trending so hard this season that this swimsuit would be a great piece to try on.  I’m wearing a size medium. You guys already know I love swimwear with cutouts that also cover areas of concerns and this one did not disappoint.  It’s super cute and comfy.  I didn’t go with it simply because I wasn’t a fan of the tie in the front but I loved the style.

In the spirit of illusions, I picked up this Mesh Scoop Back One Piece byXhilaration.  It gives the illusion of a bikini while still being a one piece.  I like the fact that the mesh netting throughout the torso creates a smooth look by creating an optical illusion and that it goes all the way around to the back of the suit. The downside is the tan lines that you will get with this suit. I can’t even imagine what your stomach will look like, lol. I’m wearing a size medium. I loved the fit but I did leave it in the store.

I saw this Cut out plunge one-piece suit out of the corner of my eye and absolutely fell in love with it. Then I tried it on and I was so disappointed.  I loved the color and the style, who doesn’t love all the cut outs and the FULL coverage bottom.  It meets ALL the criteria of a great monokini BUT, those straps that cut across my hips created a BULDGE which was NOT cute.

I tried on a size medium but the large was too big. I definitely say try it on and see if it works for you because this suit is super cute and I’m sad I had to leave it in the store. Hopefully, it works for you because somebody needs to be GREAT in it!

Lastly, I tried on this push-up underwire bikini by Mossimo.  The bikini top and the modern keyhole string bikini bottom both come in S-L .  I tried on a medium top and bottom and it was a bit snug. The top is pretty stiff and uncomfortable because it’s a push-up.

These pieces come in various colors and are made to be mixed and matched with a variety of tops and bottoms so this fit might not be for you but check out their other styles and maybe you can create a combination that works for you.  In the end, I left this suit in the store.
